PANAJI: The state government is likely to give a grant or loan of Rs 50 crore to 30 government-aided educational institutes this year to maintain and upgrade infrastructure as the state cabinet on Wednesday approved the infrastructure loan-cum-grant scheme.

Speaking to reporters, chief minister Manohar Parrikar said that to avail this scheme, the institutions should have completed five years.

“This year I intend to give 50 crore under this scheme and a minimum of 30 schools will be covered under this scheme. Over a period of four years all schools will be covered,” Parrikar said, adding that there are approximately 270 schools.
