Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme (2008 - 2009)This scheme is applicable to students studying in standard I-X who belong from the Muslim, Christian, Sikh or Buddhist community. This scholarship will be given for one year only. This may facilitate students of minority having total family income of Rs. 1-2 lacs per annum to be decided by the govt. This may include electrical wiremen, civil work supervision, radio T.V. repair, Tailoring, embroidery, soft toys manufacturing, Air conditioning, Plumbing, Blacksmithing, carpentry, Motor repairing works, Mobile repairing works, welding, denting and painting of motor vehicles etc. Training fee and stipend to candidates (@ of Rs. 500/- p.m.) will be borne by the govt. For more information, please visit the following website: http://minoritywelfare.bih.nic.in/docs/Proposed New Schemes for Minorities.pdf Mahatama Gandhi / Maulana Azad Residential Training School for Minorities boys and girlsIt is proposed to establish Mahatama Gandhi/ Maulana Azad Residential Training School for boys and girls from minorities to give them educational training like B.Ed., M.Ed. etc. The criteria for intake will be financial status as fixed by the government e.g. double the B.P.L. amount or total income of family not more than two lacs per annum. It is to be open in phases, the first phase of which consists of 11 minorities concentrated districts like Purnera, Kishanganj, Araria, Darbhanga, Madubani, Katihar, Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Munger and Muzaffarpur with intake of 50 girls and 50 boys. They may be provided boarding facilities also for the period of their training.
