Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme (2008 - 2009)

This scheme is applicable to students studying in standard I-X who belong from the Muslim, Christian, Sikh or Buddhist community. This scholarship will be given for one year only. Sanction of stipend to Medical / Engineering / Management students

Under this scheme minority students of Medical /Engineering/ Management courses of Govt./ Semi Govt. institute or any other institute of repute duly recognized by Govt. may be provided with a stipend of Rs. 1000/- p.m. per student for the whole year for the full course. This may facilitate students of minority having total family income of Rs. 1-2 lacs per annum to be decided by the govt. Occupational Training for Minorities

Occupational training for unemployed youth, male and female in various trades may be provided in separate occupational training centers installed/ arranged by the govt. for this purpose. This may include electrical wiremen, civil work supervision, radio T.V. repair, Tailoring, embroidery, soft toys manufacturing, Air conditioning, Plumbing, Blacksmithing, carpentry, Motor repairing works, Mobile repairing works, welding, denting and painting of motor vehicles etc. Training fee and stipend to candidates (@ of Rs. 500/- p.m.) will be borne by the govt. Mahatama Gandhi / Maulana Azad Residential Training School for Minorities boys and girls

It is proposed to establish Mahatama Gandhi/ Maulana Azad Residential Training School for boys and girls from minorities to give them educational training like B.Ed., M.Ed. etc. The criteria for intake will be financial status as fixed by the government e.g. double the B.P.L. amount or total income of family not more than two lacs per annum. It is to be open in phases, the first phase of which consists of 11 minorities concentrated districts like Purnera, Kishanganj, Araria, Darbhanga, Madubani, Katihar, Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Munger and Muzaffarpur with intake of 50 girls and 50 boys. They may be provided boarding facilities also for the period of their training. Sanction of stipend to ITI / Diploma Students

Under this programme a stipend of Rs. 250/- or 500/- depending upon courses per month per candidate for 10/20/30 months will be sanctioned to minority students studying in ITI/ Diploma/ recognized certificate courses like computer programming etc. A budgetary provision of about Rs. 200 lakhs in beginning will facilitate about 5000 students in the entire state.
