Delhi Ladli Scheme

The aim of this scheme is to enhance the social status of a girl child in the society as well as in the family and to ensure proper education. Eligibility:

A. For girl children born on or after 01.01.08

  • The applicant must be a bonafide resident of the National Capital Territory of Delhi for at least three years preceding the date of application,
  • The girl child must have been born in Delhi as shown by the birth certificate issued by Registrar (Births & Deaths),
  • The annual income of the parents of the child should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-.

B. For all other girl children in Delhi

  • Who are currently studying in a Govt./MCD/NDMC or Govt. recognized school in Delhi,
  • Who were born in Delhi as shown by the birth certificate issued by Registrar (Births & Deaths),
  • Who have been admitted in Classes I, VI, IX, or XII or passed Class X in the academic year 2008-09 onwards,
  • Whose parents have been residing in Delhi for at least 3 years prior to the date of application,
  • Whose parents’ income is less than Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum,
  • All such girl children shall receive payments of Rs. 5,000/- in the form of long-term fixed deposits.
  • The above-mentioned deposits shall be encashable only after the child attains 18 years and has at least passed Class X.

Merit Scholarship to SC / ST / OBC / Minorities students studying in class VI to XII

  1. Students studying in class VI to XII in Central Govt /Govt. of Delhi/ Aided/ Recognized/Local bodies schools are eligible.
  2. Family income limit is not applicable in case of SC/ST students. But family income should not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum in case of OBC and minorities students.
  3. A student is allowed to avail the scholarship either under the State Plan Scheme or Centrally Sponsored Scholarship Scheme, whichever is beneficial to him/her and should inform the awarding authority through the Head of the Institution by mode of a declaration.
  4. After launch of Mission Convergence this scheme is being implemented by Education Department except in recognized public schools/ kendriya vidayalaya and schools under MCD/NDMC/DCB w.e.f. Annual Plan 2008-09.

Reimbursement of tution fee for SC/ST/OBC/Minorities students in public schools

The SC/ST/OBC/Minorities students studying in Ist to Vth will be entitled to get reimbursement of tution fee and other compulsory fee irrespective of the percentage of marks. But in case of students studying in VI to XIIth class tution and other compulsory fee will be reimbursed to only those students scoring 50% & above marks and having attendance not less than 80% in the preceding year.

The reimbursement is 100% to the students whose family income do not exceed Rs. 60000/- per annum. In case, students whose family income is more than Rs. 60000/- and below Rs. 1 lakh per annum 75% of the fee will be reimbursed. For more information go to:

Scheme for stipends to Physically Handicapped Students

The Delhi Administration grants stipends to the Physically Handicapped Students under the Physically Handicapped Students Rule, 1976. Under the scheme monetary assistance is provided to the blind, deaf and the orthopaedically handicapped students who are studying in classes I to VIII in Govt. recognised school in Delhi.

The handicapped students who secure up to 55% marks and whose parents/guardians income does not exceed Rs.500/- per month are eligible to be under the scheme. The students securing more than 55% marks and whose guardians/parents income is below Rs.1000/- per month are also eligible for the assistance.

Merit Scholarship to College / Professional Institutions Students belonging to SC / ST / OBC / Minorities students

  1. Scholarship will be granted to students of 3 year degree courses, post graduate studies at college level and professional courses of degree and post graduate level and diploma studies. The duration of the professional course may vary from course to course.
  2. The rate of scholarship will be reduced to 50% if a student failed in the annual examination, but continues studies except in cases where the student failed to appear in the annual examination on medical grounds or due to natural calamities or any other reason beyond his/her control.

Pre Exam coaching for SC / ST / OBC / Minority

  1. Candidates must have required caste certificate issues by the competent authority of Delhi.
  2. a. The Candidate seeking coaching for All India services should have passed B.A./B.E or equivalent exam conducted by the recognized university and must have scored more than 50% marks.
    b. The candidates seeking coaching for admission in medical & engg. colleges should have passed Sr. Secondary or equivalent exam from recognized board/university and must have scored more than 50% marks. Beside students appearing for 10+2 exam, who have scored at least 50% or more marks in matric and also in XIth class will be eligible.
    c. The family income of the family of the applicant including their own income, should be between Rs.1.00 lakh to 2.00 lakh - per annum which should be supported by Income certificates from the SDM only/self undertaking of the parents.
    d. The age of the candidate should be as laid down by the admitting/examining bodies.
